Tesla unveils the ‘D’, a dual-motor all-wheel-drive super car with auto-pilot

Last week, Elon Musk promised to ‘unveil the D’ on October 9, whatever that meant. And on October 9, he delivered on that promise.

At the Los Angeles unveiling, Tesla Motors’ CEO pulled the curtain back on a new dual-motor, ‘all-wheel-drive’ version of its existing Model S sedan. Basically, you get a motor in the front and back of the car, with three different versions hitting the market: the 60D, 85D and P85D.

Pricing? Well, the 60D kicks off at $71,070, all the way through to a top-line figure of $120,170 for the P85D.
