Topping tech headlines over the weekend were reports that the EU wants to split up Google's operations in its member countries.



Lawmakers are drafting a non-binding resolution that recommends that the tech giant be forced to split its search business from the rest of its operations. The proposal is the latest move in the EU's long-running antitrust investigation into Google's business practices. As noted by Reuters, the EU Parliament are scheduled to vote on the matter this Thursday, though their action is non-binding and really just puts pressure on regulators.



Meanwhile, Samsung has asked the U.S. International Trade Commission to block sales of graphics processors made by Nvidia, claiming patent infringement. The move comes after Nvidia registered its own patent infringement claim with the commission in September against Samsung and others over GPU technology.



In other news, Google is giving away a full terabyte of Drive storage for the next two years to those who purchase a new Chromebook—a $240 value. The offer, good until Jan. 1, is available on new, eligible Chromebooks, which cost as little as $199.
