Apple’s framework for your connected home has been expanded to allow remote access and control of your connected devices through iCloud with iOS9.
Announced today at WWDC, HomeKit is also expanding its range to include compatibility with sensors such as smoke alarms or carbon monoxide alarms, as well as other compatible connected devices.
You will now be able to access and control HomeKit through the Apple Watch app as well.
In recent weeks, the first devices started to hit stores and it was also announced today that Philips Hue intelligent lighting system will start supporting HomeKit this fall.
